eCAT is secure on a number of different levels.

Secure login

All editions of eCAT offer a secure login system. You need to know a valid login and password to get entry to the system, and there is no way to view data in the system without such a login.

Secure sharing and permissions

All editions of eCAT offer a secure permissions system for users. For the Personal version this is already in evidence and protects your data from other Personal service users, giving you a private Home folder visible only to you, and the ability to create private projects inside the Projects folder. For the Team Hosted and Install versions users can specify exactly what data they want to share and who with. Administration users can also set up the system to allow or disallow certain types of sharing.

Secure storage

Team Hosted and Personal accounts come with full backup of your data. If you setup your own eCAT server behind your firewall (Install version) you will need to setup backup yourself.
